- Can I take the course if I don't own a computer?
-
You'll need a computer with Internet access to take our course, but it doesn't need to be yours. Consider using a
computer at a friend's home, at work, at school, or at the public library. You can log on to the course from any
computer with Internet access.
- Do I need special hardware or software to run this course?
-
The requirements are simple. You'll need a computer with a standard Web browser (with Javascript enabled).
Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher is recommended for best viewing. The course contains video clips, so the
computer must also have enough RAM to play videos using Windows Media Player. See the minimum hardware requirements below.

- What kind of Internet connection is required?
-
There are no special requirements. A 56K modem is recommended. You should also be aware that video segments will take
time to download if your telephone line is unusually noisy.
- What if I lose my Internet connection or my computer crashes?
-
Just reconnect and log back on. Unless you're in the middle of a video, quiz question or the final test, you won't
lose anything you have completed. After logging in, you'll return to where you left off, and you won't lose any
credit for your time on the course.
If you crash in the middle of a video, you'll need to restart that video segment when you log on again. Fortunately,
all videos segments are quite brief, generally 5 minutes or less.
- Am I required to log out?
-
You need to log out to receive credit for the page you are on. Failure to log out will require you to view the page again.
The system will automatically expire your session after 15 minutes of inactivity.
- Why is the course window larger than my screen?
-
Check your screen settings. The resolution should be at least 800x600 pixels.
Windows users: From the Start menu, select Settings, Control Panel, Display. Then select Settings and drag the screen area pointer to the right until the resolution reads 800 by 600 pixels. Click OK.
Macintosh users: Go to the Monitors and Sound Control Panel. Click on Monitor and select the proper resolution.
- What should I do if I receive an error message?
-
Log out and then log back in by clicking Resume Course. If that doesn't help contact us at info@vanbeeksystems.com
